I grew up in Jackson County and loved it so much that I never left! After graduating High School I attended Western Carolina University and obtained 
my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. That was not enough for me so I went back, after the birth of my little girl, and got my Master’s of Business Administration. My senior year I was asked to do a Business Plan on something that I was truly interested in doing. My husband is a contractor, and I always was interested in the speculative houses that he built for resale. Needless to say I created a fictitious company called L & L Mountain Homes and Properties. I poured myself into the research and thought hey, I really do like this and I seem to have a knack for it. After graduation, I went on to work as an Accountant for a while, but I never could get Real Estate off of my mind. I attended Cumbie and Trull School of Real Estate and became a NC Broker. I was born and raised in Sylva and knew that Sylva is where I would stay. My love for the mountains and family has kept me 
here. I have been actively involved in the operations of our family owned business, Lewis Carpets, since graduating high school. Several years ago, I became interested in building spec homes for resale. After trying my hand at that, I obtained my NC Residential Contractor’s license. I continued to work at the family business and build spec homes. My wife then began her career in real estate. Realizing she and I shared the same interest in real estate and enjoyed everything Real Estate, I obtained my NC Broker license.
